Juba, April 15, 2026 – His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit has received a briefing from the Minister of Justice, Hon. Michael Makuei Lueth, on ongoing work at the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
During the meeting, the Minister updated the President on his recent engagement at the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
Furthermore, Hon. Makuei reported on the progress of the court case, adding that proceedings are progressing and nearing completion.
He also outlined steps being taken to strengthen the Ministry’s capacity to deliver better legal services as part of broader reforms.
The President welcomed the report and directed the Minister to push forward with the process of reforming the legal sector as the country prepares for its democratic election this year.
