NAIROBI — East African heads of state have pledged coordinated action to address growing security threats in the region, including terrorism, cross-border crime, and maritime security. The summit, hosted by Kenya, resulted in a joint communiqué establishing a regional rapid response force and intelligence-sharing mechanism.
The agreement marks a significant step in regional security cooperation. Leaders emphasized that no single country can address these challenges alone and committed to pooling resources and expertise. The new framework will be operational within six months.
