South Sudan and Russia have renewed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of both nations, following a meeting between the minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr. James Pitia Morgan and the Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Federation to South Sudan,  Dmitrii Gusev, which focused on bolstering bilateral cooperation. The two officials discussed ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between South Sudan and Russia, focusing on cooperation in agriculture, humanitarian assistance, energy, and other areas of mutual interest.  During the meeting, Ambassador Morgan officially confirmed the participation of President Salva Kiir Mayardit in the forthcoming Russia-Africa Summit, scheduled to take place in Moscow this autumn. As South Sudan and the Russian Federation prepare to commemorate 15 years of diplomatic relations, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation.
