
Juba, May 22, 2026 – The Council of Ministers, in its regular meeting chaired by His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit, has approved new policies meant to enhance governance and public service delivery through the introduction of changes in the Revitalised Peace Agreement.
The Cabinet has also approved new regulations regarding the management of government vehicles and reforms to strengthen the prison feeding system. According to the Government, the reforms are geared towards improving institutional reforms and public resource management.
A new policy framework has been reviewed and approved, which will ensure the establishment of a centralised and standard prison feeding system. The policy mandates the Ministry of Interior to manage standard procurement, menu planning, and other monitoring services in relation to prisoner feeding.
Cabinet further passed a policy framework and strategic plan for the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MPA) for the period 2025–2030 to guide the ministry and its stakeholders in implementing activities aligned with its mandate in an efficient and effective manner.
