
JUBA, JUNE 1, 2026 — The President of the Republic, His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit, has received updates on the general situation in Lakes State. The report presented by Governor Madhang Majok Meen highlighted the relative calm despite minor isolated incidents in parts of the state.
The governor used the meeting to present his 100-day framework in office for managing the affairs of Lakes state, which he said is bearing fruits.
Majok also briefed the president on the electoral preparations in the state, saying the locals are ready to participate in the December 2026 polls.
The governor lauded the national government for the ongoing road construction program in the state, saying this has improved the movement of people and goods in the region.
