The Ministry of Trade and Industry in South Sudan announced on Monday the final approval of the design for its new strategic headquarters in the capital, Juba. The building will be constructed along the Juba-Yei road, featuring 10 floors and multi-purpose underground facilities.

The project aims to accommodate the ministry’s expanding operations and strengthen the country’s role in regional and international trade by providing advanced infrastructure, including conference halls with a capacity for over 1,000 participants, in addition to high-efficiency administrative and service facilities.

Minister of Trade and Industry Ateny Wek Ateny emphasized that the new headquarters represents a crucial step in enhancing the country’s trade policy, empowering national professionals, and fostering effective partnerships between the public and private sectors. She also called on local and international partners to support this strategic initiative, which aims to develop sustainable infrastructure and elevate South Sudan’s position as a commercial and investment hub in the region.

This project aligns with the government’s efforts to achieve economic stability and facilitate trade exchange, in line with the nation’s vision for sustainable growth and development.
