JUBA, JULY 23, 2026 — His Excellency, President Salva Kiir Mayardit has received a progress briefing from the Chairperson of the National Transitional Committee (NTC), Hon. Kuol Manyang Juuk, on preparations for South Sudan’s forthcoming national elections, including the security situation and funding for electoral institutions.

Kuol Manyang Juuk updated the President on steady progress across outstanding electoral preparations, affirming that the process remains on course.

H.E. the President directed all relevant government institutions to strengthen coordination and maintain the pace toward a credible and peaceful electoral process.

The NTC oversees implementation of the Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS), coordinating pending tasks including political dialogue, security sector integration, and constitutional and governance reforms toward democratic elections.
