Head of National Transitional Committee Briefs South Sudan President on Progress of Peace Security Arrangements

President Salva Kiir Mayardit of the Republic of South Sudan received the Senior Presidential Advisor and Chairperson of the National Transitional Committee, Kuol Manyang Juuk, who presented a report on the latest developments in implementing the agreed-upon security arrangements under the peace agreement.
Kuol affirmed, in a press statement following the meeting, the National Transitional Committee’s commitment to implementing the provisions of the peace agreement, stressing that top priority is given to security arrangements.
He explained that the committee is currently working to finalize its budget, which he described as a crucial element for accelerating the implementation of the agreement. At the same time, he called on peace partners and stakeholders to enhance their support, particularly regarding the security arrangements outlined in Chapter Two of the agreement.
The National Transitional Committee, established under the 2018 peace agreement, is the body responsible for overseeing and coordinating the implementation of the agreement’s provisions, with a special focus on security reform, governance, and national reconciliation processes.
