Diplomatic Efforts for Peace in South Sudan: IGAD’s Special Envoy Meets with Deputy Chairperson of National Parties Alliance

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, May 30, 2025 – In a pivotal moment for peace initiatives in South Sudan, a significant meeting took place between the Special Envoy for South Sudan Peace, Ambassador Dr. Ismail Wais of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), and 1st Lt Gen/Philip Stephen Dak Onwar, the Deputy Chairperson of the National Parties Alliance (NPA) for Peace and Reconciliation.
