This latest engagement reflects the government&#8217;s ongoing commitment to advancing South Sudan&#8217;s developmental and peace objectives as the nation prepares for its upcoming democratic transition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">JUBA, OCTOBER 21, 2026 &mdash; The President of the Republic, His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit, has received letters of credence from eight newly accredited ambassadors to South Sudan, reaffirming the country&rsquo;s commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations as it prepares for its December general elections.<\/p>\n<p><span>The ambassadors are Matsui Shinji of Japan, Rebecca Fabrizi of the United Kingdom, Farid Ouahid Dahmane of Algeria, Mario de Azevedo Constantino of Angola, Alfred Musemuna of Zambia, Sune Krogstrup of Denmark, Lee Sangho of the Republic of Korea and Magnus Lennartsson of Sweden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The ambassadors of Japan and the United Kingdom will serve as resident ambassadors in South Sudan, while the other six will serve on a non-resident basis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Welcoming the envoys, President Kiir reaffirmed his government&rsquo;s commitment to working closely with their respective countries to deepen bilateral relations and advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The President reassured the ambassadors that South Sudanese are peaceful and welcoming people, describing them as among the kindest people on earth.
