This latest engagement reflects the government&#8217;s ongoing commitment to advancing South Sudan&#8217;s developmental and peace objectives as the nation prepares for its upcoming democratic transition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">JUBA, July 8, 2026 &ndash; His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit has received a comprehensive briefing from the Governor of Upper Nile State, James Koang Chuol, on the political and security situation in the state, with the governor reporting that conditions remain stable ahead of the country&#8217;s general elections.<\/p>\n<p><span>During the meeting at the State House, Governor Koang informed the President that the security situation across Upper Nile State is calm, allowing residents to carry on with their daily activities without disruption.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>He said communities throughout the state, including the eastern and northern regions, are experiencing normalcy and are preparing to participate in the forthcoming general elections.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;All areas are quite normal, including the eastern and northern parts of the state.
